kapiw upopo (A song of two seagulls), Mayunkiki and Surge Orchestra. Performed on 9 September 2022 at Ikon Gallery, Birmingham. A week-long residency and cultural exchange with Japanese Ainu artist Mayunkiki and musicians from Surge Orchestra culminated in a concert with new works and re-imaginings of Mayunkiki’s music.
